M.Arch

BMSSA offers 2 year Masters of Architecture Programme approved by Council of Architecture, (CoA), Govt. of Karnataka and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The M.Arch program awards the students a professional in Urban Design, combining rigorous training of the skills and disciplines with critical and advanced outlook on social and environmental awareness.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO)

  • HIGHER ORDER OF CRITICAL THINKING - The students are equipped to develop a higher order of critical thinking through extensive reading and by observing peer work and ideas through design demonstration.
  • SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - BMSSA instills building close relation with the society through an enriched academic environment and diverse perspective where all individuals can flourish. We commit to serve the society through responsible architectural practices.
  • INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK - Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • THEORETICAL FOUNDATION - The students would be able to understand various theoretical ideologies and principles that play a crucial role in design of cities. They would be in a position to take an ideological stand.

  • PSO 1 : The students would be able to comprehend the spatial and temporal understanding of a city.
  • PSO 2 : The students would be able to understand and resolve contemporary challenges by dissecting complex layers of social, economic and political layers.
  • PSO 3 : The students would be able to develop a holistic view of the city and its components in the third dimension.
  • PSO 4 : Develop skills of design and intervention in the built environment at varying scales.
  • PSO 5 : The student would be able to execute an urban design project through team work by coordinating with various stakeholder, citizens,, law makers, politicians, urban managers and other professionals.
